Ian Grace Aksum

How we met: During a street ministry outreach, Aksum was one of the first boys to express his want to go home. He readied himself and we made our way to his home. There we found his grandmother. We discussed with her about him and his home life and learned that this was not the first time an organization had brought him home from the streets. We agreed to help him with consistent follow-up visits. He returned to school and remained with his grandmother for a short time. By the second term, we were able to raise enough support to send him to a boarding school.

Where he is now: Aksum is continuing his education in boarding school and spending his holidays with our coordinator and team of volunteers. He is studying his academics and learning everyday life-skills.

How to support Aksum: He is still in need of regular sponsors to meet his need of $300 per school term (or $600 annually) and additional $100 for necessities. He is currently receiving $35 monthly. We need someone like you to contribute $20-30 each month for Aksum to be 100% supported.

Emmanuel Waibango Abdu

How we met: Abdu came to us through a street ministry outreach and expressed a desire to return home. Our team set off and took him to his village where they found an uncle he could stay with. We were able to get him into a local government school and he has been studying hard ever since.

Where he is now: Abdu is still staying with his uncle during the school terms and goes to the HRO base with our team during the holidays for tutoring and life-skill work. We hope to be able to send him to boarding school soon.

How to support Abdu: At the moment, Abdu does not have any regular supporters. He needs $200 per school term and $100 for other necessities. We need 2 people willing to sponsor him with $20-30 monthly to cover his education and basic necessities.

Namusobya Shifra

How we met: The team met little Shifra in her village where she has been living with her aunt. They had no funds to send her to school, so she would just spend her days around the home. Both of her parents have passed, so her aunt is her primary guardian. We were able to raise enough funds to send Shifra to a local government school where she has been working hard in her studies.

Where she is now: Shifra is still living with her aunt and attending the local school. And she visits our HRO team on holidays. We hope to send her to a boarding school soon to further her education.

How to support Shifra: At the moment, Shifra does not have any regular supporters. She needs $200 per school term and $100 for other necessities. We need 2 people willing to sponsor her with $20-30 monthly to cover her education and basic necessities.
